UFC star Paddy Pimblett has explained where and when he wants to make his return after another big win at UFC London.

Over the course of the last twelve months, we’ve seen the star power of Paddy Pimblett shoot through the roof. The 27-year-old has captured the imagination of the masses and even though he isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea, the Scouse sensation serves as a genuine breath of fresh air for the sport of mixed martial arts.

It helps, then, that he continues to pick up notable wins, with his latest success coming against Jordan Leavitt at UFC London.

The immediate aftermath of the triumph featured Paddy celebrating alongside his close friend Molly McCann and from the perspective of the fanbase, it was quickly becoming clear that the UFC may have a lightning in a bottle type of situation with ‘The Baddy’.

Many have wondered when he’s going to return and if it’s going to be before the end of the year, and as per the man himself, he does have a date in mind - but he didn’t react well to the idea of Madison Square Garden in November.

“Come on lad, the tax man just taking all my dough? That’s not happening, lad. The tax man isn’t getting my money in New York [UFC 281].”

“Yeah Vegas, December lad.”

Pimblett was then asked about how it feels to have such a surge of popularity behind him.

“Yeah this is what I’ve always worked for, I’ve envisioned this and visualised this, I’ve always known this was coming. So, for me, it’s not surreal or anything. This is just another day at the office - and I do notice it that after my fight, you can just see people going to the exit, trying to get the quickest taxi.”

How did he beat Leavitt?

There are very few fighters in the UFC who can take the back as smoothly as Paddy Pimblett and he proved that in a big way at the O2 Arena.

He was able to submit Jordan Leavitt to take his UFC record up to 3-0, giving us a further insight into what his main route to victory would be against some of the division’s elite names.
