Vidic's ever-reliable partner - Rio Ferdinand. The two complimented each other perfectly and are definitely in Cristiano's all-time XI.

Marcelo was simply a joy to watch. A full-back that helped revolutionise the position in modern-day football, he could attack and defend, making it look effortless along the way.

Paul Scholes is the first midfielder to make the cut. He was one of the few players to make passing look effortless and is regarded as one of the greatest English midfielders of all time.

It would be rude not to include the only other player who has won the Ballon d'Or winner besides Lionel Messi and Ronaldo himself in the past 13 years - the Croatian maestro Luka Modric.

A potential future Ballon d'Or winner? Karim Benzema has been immense since Ronaldo's departure but also was criminally underrated when he was there. He's now cemented himself as one of the best, if not the best, striker in world football.
