Karim Benzema had a stellar 2021/22 season.

The Frenchman scored 44 goals in 46 games last campaign as Real Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League.

His individual brilliance means he is the hot favourite for the 2022 Ballon d'Or, which will be announced in October.

But will he be the highest-rated striker on FIFA 23?

We've attempted to predict the 20 highest-rated strikers on the game ahead of its release in September.

Two centre-forwards (Lionel Messi and Paulo Dybala) have been included.

=17. Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal | 84 (+1)

An upgrade is coming Jesus' way. Big things are expected of him at Arsenal.

=17. Luis Suarez | Nacional | 84 (-4)

Suarez found game-time hard to come by and should be given a hefty downgrade following his return to Uruguay.

=17. Darwin Nunez | Liverpool | 84 (+8)

Liverpool's £85m man is set for a big upgrade.

=17. Gerard Moreno | Villarreal | 84 (-2)

Moreno only scored nine La Liga goals in a season riddled with injury.

=13. Iago Aspas | Celta | 85 (+2)

Aspas continues to get better with age. Now 35, he scored 18 La Liga goals in 2021/22.

=13. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang | Barcelona | 85 (+0)

Aubameyang was back to his best after moving from Arsenal to Barceona in January. He notched 11 La Liga goals in 17 games.

=13. Jamie Vardy | Leicester City | 85 (-1)

Now 35, Leicester's main man continues to perform at a high level.

=13. Dusan Vlahovic | Juventus | 85 (+7)

Vlahovic notched 24 Serie A goals in 2021/22 (17 for Fiorentina, seven for Juventus). At 22, he will only get better.

12. Romelu Lukaku | Inter Milan | 86 (-2)

A rating decrease is coming Lukaku's way after a hellish 2021/22 season at Chelsea.

=10. Wissam Ben Yedder | Monaco | 86 (+2)

The Frenchman endured the best season of his career in 2021/22 as he scored 32 times for Monaco.

=10. Lautero Martinez | Inter Milan | 86 (+1)

Martinez had his best goalscoring campaign of his career last season, netting 25 goals as he thrived after the departure of Lukaku.

=8. Ciro Immobile | Lazio | 87 (+0)

Immobile's goal-scoring record isn't talked about enough. He's scored an incredible 182 goals in 259 games for Lazio over the past six seasons!

=8. Paulo Dybala | AS Roma | 87 (+0)

Dybala will be hoping to guide Jose Mourinho and Roma to Serie A glory in the 2022/23 season.

7. Erling Haaland | Manchester City | 89 (+1)

Despite a few niggling injuries last season, Haaland deserves a rating upgrade.

=5. Harry Kane | Tottenham Hotspur | 90 (+0)

After a slow start to the campaign, Kane thrived when Antonio Conte was installed as Spurs manager in November 2021. His rating should stay the same.

=5. Cristiano Ronaldo | Manchester United | 90 (-1)

To be a 90-rated player at 37 years old is absurd. Along with Kane, Ronaldo should be the Premier League's highest-rated striker.

=2. Kylian Mbappe | Paris Saint-Germain | 91 (+0)

PSG's speed demon had another successful 2021/22 season. His rating remains the same.

=2. Karim Benzema | Real Madrid | 91 (+2)

The overwhelming favourite for the Ballon d'Or certainly has a case to be FIFA 23s highest-rated striker. We predict he just falls short but wouldn't be surprised if he was rated even higher.

=2. Lionel Messi | Paris Saint-Germain | 91 (-1)

Messi was a RW on FIFA 22 but, after playing the majority of last campaign in the middle, we think he will be a CF on FIFA 23. His struggles in his first season at PSG were well documented and he could be given a slight downgrade.

1. Robert Lewandowski | Barcelona | 92 (+0)

We are predicting that Lewandowski is now the highest-rated player on FIFA 23 by himself. He scored 50 goals in 46 games for Bayern Munich in the 2021/22 season.
