Liv Morgan has spilled the beans on who her wrestling crush was and how they have since influenced her WWE career.

The SmackDown Women’s champion has made it a mission of hers during her time in WWE to stand out from the rest of the women’s locker-room, especially when it comes to her ring attire. In the past she’s paid tribute to a number of well-known stars, all added with her signature blue tongue, too.

Morgan has also often wrestled in trainers rather than wrestling boots and she’s admitted the reason behind that on an appearance on the Sneaker Shopping with Complex. Revealing that it was down to a Superstar she had a huge crush on growing-up, John Cena.

I loved John Cena, I thought he was the sh*t,” Morgan admitted. “I had such a crush on him. He would pump his little sneakers, and I’d pump my sneakers and I didn’t even have pumps. I would just [pretend] to push my little pumps [while watching him on TV]. I thought he was amazing. He has been, whether I know it or not, a subconscious influence on my career. You know because he wore sneakers for the majority of his career, so I think maybe it’s something that kind of embedded in my mind, and maybe a reason why I like to wear sneakers.

The 28-year-old even confessed to ‘pumping-up’ her kicks despite them not being the same Reebok Pumps that John Cena was famous for wearing in his pomp.

Cena’s influence is obviously doing the trick, because last month Morgan finally achieved her dream of being WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion after she cashed-in her newly won Money in the Bank briefcase to defeat Ronda Rousey last month.

This past Saturday she then successfully defended her title against Rousey at SummerSlam, although the finish came with much controversy and there’s speculation the pair could meet again at Clash at the Castle.
