Alex Albon confirmed that he'd signed a new contract with Williams yesterday on social media, and did so in a pretty amusing manner.

The Thai-British driver is having a strong season for the Grove-based team, in what is his first year with them, with him scoring a handful of points and generally getting the best out of the car and package.

Indeed, he is helping lead the surge for better performance and will be eager to see what they can do in the second part of the year, as well as in the seasons to come having signed a multi-year deal with the team.

Certainly, his future is a lot more clear in Formula 1 than that of Oscar Piastri at the moment, who finds himself in the middle of a developing saga.

On the back of Fernando Alonso's confirmed move to Aston Martin at the start of the week, Alpine took to social media to reveal that Piastri was going to join them for 2023, in the process getting promoted from their academy and becoming the latest F2 champ to join the grid.

However, amid rumours he's already signed a pre-agreement with McLaren, Piastri took to Twitter to say that he currently has no intention of driving for Alpine next season, which certainly caused a storm on social media:

Not one to miss a golden opportunity, Albon posted this on his own channel:

And Piastri, seeing some comic light in what is surely a tumultuous time for him, clearly appreciated the efforts of Albon:

What happens next with Piastri is anyone's guess, meanwhile.
