Itumeleng Khune's distribution may be better than Ederson & Alisson's, video shows

South Africa goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune

When you think of the goalkeepers with the best distribution in the world, a few names spring to mind.

Manchester City’s Ederson is incredible with the ball at his feet, as is his compatriot Alisson Becker.

Manuel Neuer possesses such great technical ability that he could probably play outfield if he wanted to.

While Aaron Ramsdale showed at Arsenal in the 2021/22 season just how good his distribution is.

One name that doesn’t immediately spring to mind is South Africa goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune.

But Khune definitely deserves to be in the conversation when it comes to discussing the goalkeepers with the best distribution in the world.

Don’t believe us?

Well, a video went viral in 2021 that shows just how crazy good the 35-year-old is.

Writing about Aaron Ramsdale, @wavygooner wrote: “I don’t think there is any goalie in the world that passes the ball so well with his feet and possessing the confidence to execute those passes like Aaron Ramsdale.”

Twitter user @35hunnid4acoat responded with a compilation of the South African’s distribution in a game for Kaizer Chiefs.

And it shows just how brilliant he is. View it below…

That distribution is just off the charts.

To produce so many outrageous passes in one game is a testament to just how good Khune is.

His pass at 0:35, straight to a teammate’s toe, is just jaw-dropping.

Many football fans were full of praise for Khune and you can view some reaction below…

Unfortunately for European football fans, it’s likely that Khune will never play football in the continent.

Now 35, the goalkeeper has spent his whole career in South Africa with Kaizer Chiefs.

He made his debut for the club in 2004 and has gone on to make 327 appearances. He has also played 91 times for his country.
