Tyson Fury might be happily retired for now - but in the meantime he is helping another one of his brothers get ready for the fight game.

Fury's brother Roman, 25, will make his professional boxing debut next month in Blackpool on September 10.

The 25-year-old has the same Northern accent and jet-black hair as his younger brother Tommy Fury.

But unlike Tyson and Tommy, Roman has no amateur background or prior experience whatsoever.

Fury told VIP Boxing's YouTube channel: “If nothing else it’s a story.

“How many people do you know that jump into it at the deep end with no experience? But that’s the challenge and I like a challenge."

“I’ve always messed around on the pads with my Dad and my brothers from a young age, but actually sparring and fighting, I don’t have that much experience."

In fact, it was only after sparring with Tommy that he made the decision to turn pro.

Roman revealed: “During lockdown, I used boxing to lose some weight, about six stone.

"I was 20st, a real mess. But lockdown happened, I had no work, I was eating crap, playing on the Xbox, I had no life whatsoever.

“One day Tommy invited me down to train with him, I had a couple of sessions and I started getting into it. I trained more and more until it went from training twice a week to six times a week and the weight came off, the confidence grew.

“It’s not just a physical thing, it’s a mental thing as well. It’s turned my life around completely.”

Roman is kicking off his pro career with Jimmy Harrington, who also just so happens to train one of Tyson's closest childhood friends - former Commonwealth featherweight champion Isaac Lowe.

He continued: "I go to Manchester Fight Club, Arthur Little, do some training there.

"And then I'm up at Morecambe as well. All over really, wherever Jimmy can get me in.

"I'm at Tyson's once a week on Fridays, getting a gruelling session in as it always is, and then Jimmy will ring me up, saying I've got sparring here there and everywhere, and I'll just go.

"And that's what it's about. I want to get as much experience in as much as possible ready for September 10. So yeah I'm all over."
