Manuel Neuer's 'sweeper-keeper' abilities have long proven revolutionary, but left him red-faced in Bayern Munich's Bundesliga opener. The German completely modernised the role of the goalkeeper with his aggressive approach over the last decade, but was made to look silly as Die Roten ran riot away at Eintracht Frankfurt on gameweek one.Despite losing Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, Bayern showed they haven't lost any goal scoring prowess as they stormed into a 5-0 lead at half-time against Frankfurt on Friday night.Julian Nagelsmann's side looked absolutely ruthless and, truthfully, could've been even more than five goals ahead come the half-time whistle. But they took their foot off the gas after the break, and a lapse in concentration left them looking rather silly after 64 minutes, despite the fact they had stormed into such a monstrous lead. While usually Bayern can rely on their German stopper to bail them out when he picks up a nauseatingly high position outside of his box, this time his error gifted a goal to Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani.Standing well outside of his box, Neuer appeared to be taken by surprise by a pass that was arrowed back in his direction and made a mess of his first touch. And with Kolo Muani following the pass backwards, the poor first touch allowed him to pounce and catch Neuer off guard.

That resulted in the 36-year-old flapping under the pressure, coming up with an equally as poor second touch in trying to turn away from danger and falling over as Kolo Muani stuck a foot in and rifled the ball into an empty net, leaving Neuer and Bayern looking incredibly silly.

His and Bayern's style is a risky one, and they paid the price this time. Take a look for yourself below.

Oh, Manuel. We're not trying to tell you how to do your job, but there's nothing wrong with a good, old-fashioned punt up the pitch every now and then.

In his defence, a portion of the blame has to go onto Lucas Hernandez, who put his goalkeeper under pressure by playing the pass back to him instead of just hooking the ball away.

But, when your name is Manuel Neuer and your entire game is founded upon such an erratic goalkeeping style, your defenders are always going to look towards you for help in such a situation.

Thankfully it meant very little as Bayern were firmly in the driving seat and would score a sixth goal after 83 minutes. But that didn't stop Frankfurt fans from enjoying the goal and the rather hilarious error.

They were more than happy to poke fun at Neuer with a cheeky, but admittedly humourous chant. Be sure to check it out below.

Fair play to them for enjoying their evening despite having to watch their side open the season with a crushing 6-1 defeat.

And as for Neuer, we hardly think the error - no matter how glaring it might have been - will be playing on his mind. He is a World Cup winner and the first choice in one of football's most dominant sides, after all.
