Karrion Kross (real name Kevin Kesar), was born July 19, 1985 in New York City, New York.

He started his professional wrestling career in 2014, after being trained by former WCW star Disco Inferno, but had to wait until joining IMPACT Wrestling in 2018 to receive his big break.

Prior to that, the 37-year-old worked for the likes of Lucha Underground, AAA and Global Force Wrestling, but really rose to prominence in IMPACT as Killer Kross.

During the early portion of his career, Kross actually did do some work with WWE, appearing as a jobber on Raw in 2015 to team with Darren Young as the pair lost to The Ascension.

In December 2019, Kross was released from his deal by IMPACT, and it was immediately reported that WWE were heavily interested in signing him.

In fact, reports indicated that to fight off interest from AEW, WWE was willing to "fast-track" Kross straight up to the main roster, allowing him to bypass NXT.

That isn't exactly what happened though, as after signing for WWE in February 2020, Kross was immediately sent to NXT.

It was clear that Triple H, who was booking NXT at the time, was a big fan of his. Four months after making his TV debut in April 2020, he was NXT Champion.

He defeated Keith Lee to win the title in August 2020, but was immediately taken off TV and forced to relinquish the belt after dislocating his shoulder.

His injury didn't force NXT higher-ups to change their plans too much, as after returning in December 2020, Kross was made NXT Champion again by April 2021, this time by beating Finn Balor at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

While he was NXT Champion, Kross was brought up to the main roster appearing on the July 19 episode of Monday Night Raw, losing to Jeff Hardy on the show.

He would drop the NXT Championship to Samoa Joe just one month later ahead of a full-time switch up to WWE's flagship brand.

Vince McMahon began to make alterations to Karrion's character and presentation, firstly by separating from Scarlett Bordeaux, his on-screen valet and real-life wife.

Fast forward to November 4, when WWE came to terms with the releases of both Kross and Bordeaux, drawing to a close their horror four months on the main roster.
