Dolph Ziggler didn't hold back while dragging WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg with a savage tweet this weekend.

The last Goldberg match that fans really look back fondly on was his August 2019 clash at SummerSlam with Dolph Ziggler.

Goldberg beat his fellow former World Heavyweight Champion in a match at the show that lasted less than two minutes, but fans really look back quite fondly on it.

However, it seems like Ziggler doesn't have such fond memories of working with the WCW icon.

Last night, WWE posted a throwback to Goldberg's promo on the August 5 episode of Raw in 2019, where he made it clear he was going after Dolph.

Ziggler saw the tweet and responded pretty quickly, joking that Goldberg probably injured the microphone after throwing it down onto the ring.

In case you didn't realise, Dolph is referencing the common conception within wrestling that Goldberg is quite an unsafe worker, often injuring his opponents.

Willing to bet he injured that mic

Fans absolutely loved Ziggler dragging Goldberg on Twitter, with many praising the Raw star for his quick wit.

Ziggler is by no means the only wrestler to label Goldberg as an unsafe worker, with Bret Hart being pretty open about his feelings towards the WWE Hall of Famer.

Bret Hart was forced to retire in 2000 after a superkick from Goldberg that went wrong gave him a nasty concussion, and Bret really hasn't forgiven him.

Back in an interview in 2020, Hart compared wrestling Goldberg to working with "a real gorilla", saying that he was the most dangerous wrestler to work with.

For Bill Goldberg to be in the Hall of Fame, he hurt everyone he worked with. You might as well wrestle a real gorilla. He was the most dangerous guy to work with. He hurt everybody he worked with.

Hart even explained that he was concerned Goldberg would injure him before their match, which as we've covered, ended up happening.

The last words I said to Bill before we had that match were he ended my career, I said “Bill, whatever you do out there, don’t hurt me.”

Dolph Ziggler was in action on Monday Night Raw this week, losing out in a three-way to Ciampa, with the match also featuring Chad Gable.

You can watch Dolph Ziggler every week live on Monday Night Raw in the US on the USA Network and in the UK on BT Sport.
