The Premier League returned to our screens this weekend and it couldn't have come a moment too soon.Arsenal and Crystal Palace kicked the carnival off on Friday evening with the Gunners getting their campaign off to the perfect start. A strike from Gabriel Martinelli and a second half own-goal saw the north London side clinch a valuable three points from a match that, on paper, could have been very tricky.Liverpool, meanwhile, got their season off to a rather underwhelming start as they were bullied by Aleksandar Mitrovic on a difficult day in the Fulham sunshine.If the Reds are to give Manchester City a proper run for their money in the title chase this season, then they will hope that performances like that are few and far between.Tottenham got off to an absolute flyer as they rattled four past Southampton in front of a rapturous crowd with Dejan Kulusevski running the show.

Neto has always been known for his fantastic touch and simply doesn't get the credit he deserves for what he is capable of with a football at his feet.
Elsewhere, there were awful scenes at Goodison Park as Ben Godfrey suffered a freak ankle injury while challenging Chelsea's Kai Havertz.
Godfrey spent several minutes receiving treatment on the pitch before he was stretchered off and taken straight to hospital.
