Jake Paul was billed to step foot in the ring last night with Hasim Rahman Jr at the iconic Madison Square Garden in a huge pay-per-view event, although the plug was pulled.

It was alleged that Rahman couldn’t make the required weight, leading to the fight being cancelled, with no short term replacement, the entire pay-per-view event was scrapped.

Originally, Paul was billed to take on Tommy Fury, although a visa issue prevented that from happening, with Rahman stepping in at short notice to save the event.

The pair were once sparring partners, so Rahman will know Paul very well and his tactics in the ring, so it was no surprise to see him jump at the chance to take him on in the main event at MSG.

Since the cancellation, the pair have been at each other, with Rahman now releasing footage from a sparring session, showing Paul run away from him in the ring. He captioned the video: “Never in the history of boxing has someone pulled out a fight a week in advance over weight issues. I tried to tell y’all, “he’s a runner he’s a trackstar.”

He has disputed claims that he wasn’t going to make weight, after weighing in at 206lb, just one pound over. This led to him announcing: “Stop being scared Jake. Stop being scared, look I'm right here at 206, clearly I could make 205. Give the people what they want.

Hasim Rahman Jr has already pulled out of a fight with Jake Paul, but it could be second time lucky

Jake Paul, seen here standing next to Hasim Rahman Jr, believes he could beat Canelo Alvarez in a boxing match

“They wanna see us fight, they wanna see you in the ring with a real fighter, you've got a real fighter right here willing to make 205. Stop being scared and fight. It's that simple."

He called the private weigh in as a result of Paul’s allegations about his weight being much higher than what it was.

Paul spoke out, claiming Rahman refused the change to 205lb which was the reason for the axing of their big fight.

Rahman clearly wanted to dispute this, his private weigh in he hosted which showed him just a pound over weight was close enough to be granted extra time to make it ahead of the fight, so it could have gone ahead still.
