Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe does not want to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The Magpies are one Premier League club who have been linked with the 20-year-old this summer, but Crook says he is not a player on their list at St James' Park.

What is the latest news involving Broja?

As per the MailOnline, Everton had planned to ask Chelsea about signing Broja on loan this weekend.

Prior, the same outlet had suggested that Newcastle also had the Albanian on their radar and that he could cost £30m.

It comes after a bright 2021/22 campaign, where Broja managed to make 32 league appearances and score six goals while out on loan at Southampton - a big step in his development.

He now finds himself back at Chelsea, though that could change with the transfer window still open.

What has Crook said about Broja and Newcastle?

From what Crook understands, Howe and Newcastle are actually not too keen on Broja, while the talkSPORT reporter has told GIVEMESPORT that his wages would be a problem anyway.

Speaking to GMS, he said: "I'm not convinced by the Newcastle links to Broja, to be honest. I've been told Howe doesn't want him. I'm there to be proved wrong, but I'm told he's not on their list.

"I think he wants too much money as well. There's a certain wage structure in place at Newcastle that he would probably try and break."

Where will Broja be playing his football after deadline day?

Again, with teams still able to do business, you would not say it is a certainty that Broja will remain in west London. However, all the signs are pointing towards that outcome.

The Albania international was handed a shirt number, unlike some of his Chelsea team-mates, and even featured in the Blues' 1-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, coming on for Kai Havertz.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has also stated that he does not expect him to depart despite the club receiving offers.

"I don’t expect him to leave," Tuchel said in July. "We are aware of interest and offers, which just tells us there is a lot of potential, and the owners and me will take this decision together in the end, also with the player."

Considering all of the above, then, Broja looks set to remain at Stamford Bridge instead of joining another Premier League outfit this summer.
