Robert Lewandowski's superb highlights in Barcelona 6-0 Pumas UNAM

Robert Lewandowski's highlights from Camp Nou debut

Robert Lewandowski was imperious in Barcelona’s demolition of Pumas UNAM in the Joan Camper Trophy on Sunday evening.

The Polish striker, signed for €50m from Bayern Munich in the summer, has had a slow start in pre-season with his new club.

He had not scored in his opening three Barca games going into the match against the Mexican club at Camp Nou.

But Lewandowski well and truly put on a show in his first outing in front of his own fans as Barca recorded a resounding 6-0 victory.

It took Lewandowski just three minutes to break the deadlock. Lewandowski found himself with a tight angle after going around the goalkeeper.

But the 33-year-old did not panic. Despite a Pumas player positioning themselves on the line, Lewandowski showed incredible composure to place the ball into the net and score his first Barca goal.

Barely two minutes later, Barca’s number nine recorded his first assist of the game as he produced a wonderful reverse pass into Pedri’s path. The youngster then rounded the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Lewandowski then set up Pedri again in the 19th minute with a wonderful backheel assist.

He was eventually subbed off just after the hour-mark after putting in a superb display.

His impressive highlights from the match have been compiled by YouTuber user SVMM and you can watch them below…

It was a superb performance by Lewandowski in front of his own fans and he was given the Most Valuable Player award after the match.

There is a chance, though, that he will not be able to play in Barca’s first La Liga game against Rayo Vallecano on August 13.

Barca are in all sorts of financial trouble and, due to salary cap limits, have not been allowed to register their five new signings (Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde. Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie) as well as two players that have renewed their contracts (Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto).

Should Barca manage to register Lewandowski, though, it’s almost certain that he will score a truck-load of goals for the club during his spell.
