The Sacramento Kings and NBA veteran Kent Bazemore have agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

When Kent Bazemore arrived in Sacramento in January 2020, he brought depth, leadership, and a commanding presence in the locker room. The experienced swingman will be expected to perform similarly for the Kings this year.

During the Kings' 25 games played in 2019–20, Bazemore averaged 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting 41.8% from the field and 38.4% from 3-point range.

The Kings have chosen to use their final roster space on another veteran who can provide them with minutes throughout a lengthy season. Kent Bazemore, a former King and 10-year veteran, has agreed to return to Sacramento, according to a report from Shams Charania and verified by Bazemore.

After being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Sacramento Kings, Bazemore, 33, played for the Kings in the 2019–20 season. The seasoned wing previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021–2022, as well as the Atlanta Hawks, and Golden State Warriors.

Having played in the NBA for ten years, Bazemore went from Old Dominion in 2012 undrafted. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard/forward began his career largely as a shooting guard but has spent the majority of the last several seasons playing small forward.

Bazemore played for the Lakers in 39 games last season, averaging 3.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 32.4% shooting in roughly 14.0 minutes per game. He has averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 35.6% from the three-point range throughout his career.

Kent Bazemore, who has signed a new one-year contract with the Kings, is reunited with Mike Brown, who served as the Golden State Warriors assistant coach when Bazemore was a member of the squad in 2020–21.

Bazemore, a seasoned player with playoff experience, will give the Kings some much-needed wing depth, and he should be yet another seasoned player the team can use as a mentor for rookie forward Keegan Murray. The Kings team is all-in on ending its 16-year playoff drought, and Bazemore, who played for Brown in Golden State, could provide depth.
