Paulo Dybala took a contender for the worst corner in football history in his home Roma debut on Sunday evening.

Dybala made the move from Juventus to Roma on a free transfer earlier this summer.

He was in the starting line-up for his side's pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Stadio Olimpico.

He was given a quite incredible welcome prior to the start of the match.

The home fans inside the stadium erupted when he made his way on to the pitch. The noise inside the stadium was deafening.

Roma went on to win 5-0, with Lorenzo Pellegrini, Gianluca Mancini, Yukhym Konoplya (own-goal), Nicolo Zaniolo and Edoardo Bove all on the scoresheet.

Dybala played 81 minutes before making way for Felix Afena-Gyan.

The Argentine forward, despite not getting on the scoresheet, had a decent game as he made a good impression in front of his new fans.

However, there was one moment from the game that he will want to forget.

Roma were given a corner four minutes into the match.

Dybala proceeded to take one of the worst corners in football history.

The 28-year-old got his effort horribly wrong as he shanked the ball straight of play. The ball went roughly two yards off the ground.

It really was a horrendous corner. View it below...

Imagine running up from defence only for your teammate to take a corner like this?! You wouldn't blame Roma's defenders who made their way to the box if they were annoyed.

A camera zoomed in on the corner flag and it showed that he had badly scuffed the ground.

Now, like we've already mentioned, Dybala had a decent game and showed flashes of brilliance.

But his corner really was bad and it's no surprise some fans are mocking his effort on social media. View some reaction below...

Roma begin their Serie A campaign on Sunday August 14 when they take on Salernitana at Arechi Stadium.

Jose Mourinho will be hoping that Paulo Dybala will be pivotal as they begin their search for a first Scudetto since 2001.
