Manchester United have agreed a deal with Juventus for Adrien Rabiot.

Personal terms are still to be negotiated between United and the player's representatives, but Sky Sports have confirmed that Juventus have agreed to sell to the Premier League giants for an unknown fee.

Which, in truth, is hardly a surprise given the Frenchman has fallen out of favour with the Old Lady and has just one year remaining on his deal.

The move has been met with an overwhelming feeling of negativity amongst the United support.

The fact the Frenchman isn't wanted in Turin will no doubt be a huge reason for that.

However, the stats - which everyone loves to trawl through whenever a club of the Red Devils' calibre sign a player - hardly paint a pretty picture either.

Statman Dave's tweet & Rabiot's alarming statistics

Statman Dave has become one of the most renowned figures in the UK when it comes to breaking down the statistics - hence the nickname - and his tweet regarding Rabiot is currently going viral.

He tweeted a graphic containing some very, very alarming statistics relating to Rabiot's on-pitch performance which we'll run through below.

"Adrien Rabiot completed 2.49 passes for Juventus (per 90 mins) last season, ranking him in the BOTTOM 12% of midfielders in Europe," read the tweet.

"If I speak, I am in BIG trouble..."

Now, that statistic is concerning in itself but things continue to get worse from there...

The accompany graphic contained eight other key areas that Rabiot ranked in the bottom 40% of central-midfielders in Europe for and you can view it below.

So, zero goals for Rabiot despite playing in 32 Serie A games in 2021/22.

A mere two assists throughout the season combined with an average of 29 passes per 90 minutes should also concern United fans.

And for saying he's a central-midfielder at arguably Italy's most prestigious club, to average just 33 touches a game seems hideously low.

We can't help but feel like United ought to be looking elsewhere and even analysed five alternatives that the club should target instead to prove our point.

Who knows, maybe Rabiot will prove everyone wrong.

Right now, though, the prospect of his arrival is doing little to settle an already annoyed fan base after Brighton rocked up to Old Trafford and turned United over in their season opener.
