Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could look to make one more signing before the transfer window closes, believes transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Reds have recently been linked with a move for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, and Jones has suggested that they could target a new wide man following the departure of Sadio Mane.

What is the latest news involving Sane?

According to one report, Klopp wants Liverpool to make a bid for Sane as soon as possible.

In terms of how much the Merseyside club could be looking at to bring the German to Anfield, the same article has claimed that a potential deal could cost €50m (£46.4m).

Sane has started off the new season strongly, scoring in Bayern's DFL-Supercup win against RB Leipzig before grabbing an assist in the 6-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, the 26-year-old has had some struggles at the Allianz Arena and was criticised by Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic last season.

"Leroy is an incredibly talented young man who has everything. He's super-fast, has dribbling and this mental strength - but now he has to come," Salihamidzic told Sky90 (via GOAL). "We always talk about potential and I want to see that on the pitch. The team expects Leroy to explode."

What has Jones said about Liverpool?

While Klopp has told Liverpool supporters not to expect any more new signings, Jones is refusing to rule it out amid the links to Sane.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "I think one thing to consider with Liverpool is that they're going to miss Sadio Mane. That was one thing that was clear.

"I mean, I know Darwin Nunez offers something very different in their attack and he causes chaos, but the guile of Sadio Mane is missing, and I wonder if that's why they're being linked with Leroy Sane at the moment.

"They have got options, but let's see how their next results go over the next couple of weeks because I reckon in that last week, Klopp might go for somebody else if he feels that they're still lacking."

Would Sane be a good signing for Liverpool?

Without a doubt. While things have not always been plain sailing for him at Bayern, Sane is still a quality player and obviously knows the Premier League well from his time with Manchester City.

As per FBref, the Germany international has ranked in the 96th percentile for non-penalty expected goals, the 99th for total shots, the 90th for expected assists and the 86th for shot-creating actions among his positional peers over the last year, so it is clear to see that he is a very threatening winger.

Therefore, if there is an opportunity to snap up Sane before the transfer window closes, then Klopp should probably take it.
