Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will find it hard to resist making a signing on deadline day, believes Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The north London club have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer window this summer, but Brown thinks they could yet do more business before the market closes in September.

How have Tottenham's new signings started the new season?

Antonio Conte has brought in Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Clement Lenglet. However, none of them started in Tottenham's 4-1 win against Southampton last weekend.

Instead, Conte went with the tried and tested, which quite clearly worked after his side were able to put four past Ralph Hasenhuttl's men.

While Perisic, Bissouma and Lenglet were all brought on, the above meant it was difficult for Spurs' new recruits to make the sort of impact that the likes of Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez have made at Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

They will have the chance, though, to really make an impression when Tottenham take on their fierce London rivals Chelsea on Sunday.

What has Brown said about Tottenham's plans for the remainder of the transfer window?

While Tottenham can be satisfied with the business that they have managed to do this summer, Brown thinks Levy will find it difficult to say no to a deadline day bargain.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Daily Star journalist said: "If Daniel Levy sees a bargain on deadline day, it's going to be hard for him to resist. I think the more he can point to in terms of what he's done for Conte this window, the better from his point of view."

Who are Tottenham being linked with?

Reports suggest that Tottenham are interested in bringing AS Roma's Nicolo Zaniolo to Hotspur Way.

In fact, according to 90min, an offer has already gone in, one Roma were not happy with. The outlet states that Spurs made a bid to take Zaniolo on loan with an obligation to buy with that proposal worth €35m (£29.5m) in total.

However, it is believed that the Italian club want at least €50m (£42.2m), hence their unhappiness with Tottenham's offer.

Ultimately, given all of the speculation about Zaniolo and Spurs right now, it does appear that he is firmly on their radar.

£42m does not sound like too much of a bargain for the 23-year-old, though, while you would imagine that Roma would be reluctant to let such a key player leave on deadline day. So if Conte and Levy want Zaniolo, they probably have to land him now.
