Erling Braut Haaland's Premier League debut could not have gone any better. After a lacklustre display in the Community Shield against Liverpool, which included a dreadful miss in stoppage-time, the Norwegian announced himself on the English stage against West Ham United.Haaland bagged both of Manchester City's goals in a comfortable 2-0 win at the London Stadium. The former Borussia Dortmund striker opened the scoring in the first half from the penalty spot after he was upended in the box by West Ham 'keeper Alphonse Areola.Haaland then made it 2-0 following the half-time interval, the 21-year-old latching onto an inch-perfect pass from Kevin De Bruyne and cooly slotting the ball into the corner of the net.West Ham just simply couldn't live with City's new main man. Haaland's pace, strength and knack for finding space in the final third were just too much for the likes of Kurt Zouma and Ben Johnson.Good luck trying to stop him in 2022/23, Premier League defenders.Erling Haaland after scoring vs West HamLONDON, ENGLAND - AUGUST 07: Erling Haaland of Manchester City celebrates after scoring his second goal during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Manchester City at London Stadium on August 07, 2022 in London, England. Video: Drury's commentary on Haaland's debut vs West Ham

Marvellous, just marvellous.

It's a real shame Drury isn't the go-to guy for Premier League commentary with either Sky Sports or BT Sport, isn't it? The man is just ludicrously good at his job.

Haaland and the rest of his City teammates will now switch focus to the team's first home match of the 2022/23 season on Saturday afternoon.

The current Premier League champions host newly-promoted Bournemouth at the Etihad, who will come into the game buoyed by their 2-0 home victory over Aston Villa last Saturday.

City will still be expected to win comfortably, though, and it's more than likely that Haaland and De Bruyne will wreak havoc once again - as they probably will do for 99% of the campaign.

Can anyone stop Pep Guardiola's side from retaining their domestic crown? At this point in time, we're leaning towards 'no' in that regard...
