Everton may be stopped in their attempts to lure Chelsea striker Armando Broja to Goodison Park by the Premier League after they wrapped up the big-money signing of Amadou Onana, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.
Onana became the Toffees' latest recruit of the summer transfer window when he completed a £34million switch from Lille earlier this week, but head coach Frank Lampard could welcome more fresh faces ahead of the September 1 deadline.

According to i News, Everton's interest in Broja is 'ongoing' and Lampard is keen to add attacking reinforcements to his squad.
The report suggests there is still room in their budget for further additions despite the Toffees parting with more than £32million since the summer transfer window opened for business.
Broja sprung to Lampard's attention during a productive loan spell with Premier League rivals Southampton last season.
But Everton are not the only side looking to persuade Chelsea into offloading the 20-year-old as West Ham United have also held a strong interest and they were even close to reaching an agreement with the Blues last month, but a move failed to come to fruition despite a £30million bid being in the offing.
Newcastle United, Leicester City and Leeds United are understood to be keen on striking a deal for the frontman as well.
What has Paul Brown said about Broja?
Brown believes that Everton may have ended their chances of signing Broja after Onana completed his move to Merseyside.
The journalist feels financial constraints could result in the Premier League stepping in and stopping the switch going through if the Toffees reach an agreement with Chelsea.
Brown told GIVEMESPORT: "I think Broja's fee might be beyond them now because they've paid over £30million for Onana in midfield.
"I don't think the Premier League would allow them to do that signing, personally."
Why is Broja of interest to Everton?
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been forced onto the sidelines for up to a month after suffering a freak knee injury in training.
That means Salomon Rondon is the only senior striker currently available to Lampard and Broja, who came on as a substitute as Chelsea narrowly beat Everton on the opening day of the season, could be the perfect solution.
The 14-cap Albania international boasts Premier League experience, having appeared in the competition 34 times and found the back of the net on six occasions, meaning he would not need time to adjust to the rigours of the English top flight.
