Leicester City target Callum Hudson-Odoi would bring something special to Brendan Rodgers' side, believes journalist Dean Jones.

The Foxes are said to be eyeing the Chelsea winger, who has reportedly told the former European champions that he wants to leave the club on loan this summer.

What is the latest news involving Hudson-Odoi?

According to The Guardian, Leicester are one club who are interested in taking Hudson-Odoi for the season.

The newspaper states that the 21-year-old has informed Chelsea of his desire to depart Stamford Bridge.

He was left out of the club's opening fixture of the 2022/23 campaign against Everton and was only able to make 11 Premier League starts last season.

Therefore, joining a side like Leicester could be a good move for Hudson-Odoi as he searches for regular game time.

What has Jones said about Hudson-Odoi to Leicester?

Jones thinks Hudson-Odoi would bring an X-factor to the King Power Stadium and feels the England international could fill the hole James Maddison would leave if he goes on to join Newcastle United, who have been chasing his signature.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: "Callum Hudson-Odoi would add something special, I think, to that Leicester side, especially at a time when there's a possibility that James Maddison is going to go.

"I know we consider Maddison to be more of a central attacking midfielder, but he does also go out to that right side, too, and I think Hudson-Odoi would be a good addition for them."

Should Leicester sign Hudson-Odoi?

Leicester have a good opportunity to sign a winger from one of the country's top clubs, so they should probably take it.

They are currently finding it hard to operate in the transfer market due to financial reasons, something Rodgers recently spoke about.

"There is, obviously, within the club a financial situation which isn’t ideal in terms of wanting to do business," the Leicester manager told reporters.

Considering that, taking Hudson-Odoi on loan looks ideal. With Chelsea determined to sign Wesley Fofana, there is also the possibility that they could be willing to offer their £120,000-a-week academy graduate as part of a potential deal.

Ultimately, with the Foxes unable to splash the cash this summer, Hudson-Odoi represents a great opportunity for them given that they could end up bringing him in for nothing, even if it is just for one season.

Reports suggest that there is a lot of competition for his signature, though, while Rodgers is obviously reluctant to let Fofana go, which could rule out the possibility of Hudson-Odoi being involved in a cash-plus player deal.
