Aubameyang only left the Premier League for La Liga in January and has enjoyed a productive spell at the Nou Camp, scoring 13 goals in 23 games in all competitions.

But Barcelona have since signed Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski this summer, which could reduce his game-time next season.

Therefore, a swift return to English football suddenly looks a possibility, with Sky Sports reporting that Chelsea are now ready to sign the £185,000 per-week star, providing Barcelona allow him to leave.

What did Phillips say about Aubameyang?

When asked whether a return to the Premier League could happen for the Gabon international, he told GIVEMESPORT: "It's definitely got legs; I know for a fact Chelsea have been speaking to his agent this week and fresh talks again with Barcelona, which were in regard to Aubameyang rather than [Frenkie de Jong] [Memphis] Depay, [Marcos] Alonso or any other players."

Does Aubameyang have a good record under Tuchel?

Aubameyang has scored goals throughout his career, with his 13 strikes for Barcelona taking his overall tally to more than 300 in club football.

But Aubameyang had an especially good record playing under Tuchel's guidance. The pair might have spent just two years together at Borussia Dortmund, but they were memorable to say the least.

Not only did the duo win the DFB-Pokal in 2016-2017, but Aubameyang enjoyed the best two scoring seasons of his career when Tuchel was his manager.

He scored an incredible 79 goals and registered 17 assists in 96 appearances at Signal Iduna Park as Dortmund secured second and third place finishes and also reached the Champions League quarter finals.

Aubameyang had disciplinary problems last year, which ultimately proved the end of his Arsenal career, but if Tuchel can rediscover his best form then Chelsea could soon have one of the top strikers in the division in their ranks.
