Madden 23 Face of the Franchise new features

Madden 23

Even though Madden 23's release is just over a week away (as of writing), EA hasn't finished distributing its Gridiron Notes for the different game modes. Check out EA's Gridiron notes below for a summary of the significant changes this year.

Another new position: Cornerback

Madden 23

Cornerback is yet another new playable position that EA has added to Face of the Franchise. Face of the Franchise now has five playable positions available: cornerback, wide receiver, halfback, linebacker, and quarterback.

More flexibility in player progression

Madden 23

The level-able classes from Madden 22 will no longer be used, and position-focused advancement will take their place.

You'll have the freedom to design your player any way you like rather than being forced into predefined football stereotypes. More customization and flexibility are possible as a result.

Player-Locked Only

Madden 23

The elimination of complete team control is arguably this year's largest and potentially most divisive shift. Player-locked gameplay was only introduced this year because EA wants you to properly master your role. This implies that you won't be able to direct your teammates.

Start as a fifth-year free agent

Madden 23

Madden 23 will start you off as an underused fifth-year free agent, in contrast to prior years where you started Face of the Franchise as an NFL rookie right out of the draft.

The most important choice you'll have to make straight away involves joining the appropriate team using Madden 23's new free agency contract signing system.

EA guarantees that it will only take 15 minutes for you to run out onto the field and begin your next trip in the NFL after designing your player and signing with a team in Madden 23. The game wants to get you onto the field as soon as possible.

They don't want too much prologue at the beginning, despite the fact that role-playing is a big element of the appeal of Face of the Franchise. In Madden 23, it appears that starting as a veteran is your only option, however, it would be cool if you could start your career from the NFL Draft instead.

Other changes

Madden 23

Players can also anticipate a revamped League Hub, which will improve the efficiency of all Face of the Franchise-related updates. Additionally updated to reflect professional athlete lives off the field are Side Activities.

You can choose the side activities you wish to do during the week before watching any cutscenes or performing any on-field drills. After that, you'll receive a list of all the rewards and boosts you've received.

One of the best Madden games to date, Madden 23 is already looking great. The Face of the Franchise mode has something for everyone with all of the additional features.
