Last night saw AEW's injury list get shorter as one of their top stars made a shock return after the main event on Dynamite to save AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley.

AEW hosted a special Quake By The Lake edition of Dynamite, where the card featured the likes of Brody King vs Darby Allin in a Coffin Match, Los Ingobenrable de Faccion vs The Lucha Brothers, Jade Cargill defending her TBS Championship against Madison Rayne and so much more.

However, the talking point of the night was the highly anticipated Interim AEW World Championship match where Jon Moxley defended his championship against 'The Lionheart' Chris Jericho.

The match was a showcase of violence, with both men enduring punishment throughout the match. A new champion was almost crowned after the Jericho Appreciation Society's Sammy Guevara intervened while the referee was distracted and handed Jericho a baseball bat, allowing the Lionheart to crack it off the head of Moxley, but the Interim AEW World Champion would kick out.

Moxley continued to fight and even managed to escape The Liontamer before synching in a coquina clutch to retain his championship.

Post-match saw a brawl between the Jericho Appreciation Society and The Blackpool Combat Club. Just as Jericho was about to hit Moxley with the championship he was confronted by the returning AEW World Champion CM Punk, who disposed of each member of the JAS on his way to the ring.

Punk would come face to face with Moxley, previewing an upcoming title unification match now that Punk is back on AEW television.

The AEW World Champion has been out of action since the Dynamite after Double Or Nothing where a foot injury meant that he required surgery.

The upcoming All Out Pay-Per-View in Chicago could be the destination where Punk and Moxley will unify the Interim and AEW World Championships.

Moxley left the ring by sticking the middle finger up and barging past CM Punk.
