Christian Pulisic is one of the best footballers to have represented the United States in recent times.

Pulisic currently plays for Chelsea and helped them win the Champions League in 2021.

Just 23 years old, he's already played 51 times for his country and scored 21 goals.

Pulisic is extremely popular in the country of his birth and has even been given the nickname 'Captain America'.

So, looking to profit from his popularity, one fan managed to get a signed shirt from Pulisic, frame it and then attempt to sell it to Corey on the programme 'Pawn Stars' in 2021.

The seller was hoping to get $1500 for the piece of memorabilia.

What transpired was an incredible piece of television. Watch the segment below. (Spoiler alert, he doesn't get the $1500 he was hoping for...)

The segment starts with Pulisic being called 'The LeBron James of Soccer'.

James is regarded to be one of the best basketballers in history.

While Pulisic is a brilliant player, he is no where near being one of the best footballers ever.

Corey was not a keen football fan and wanted to get to know Pulisic a little better.

When asked what position he plays, the seller responded: "Centre-midfield, but sometimes centre-forward."

While he can be deployed in a central role, he almost always plays on the wing.

The man goes on to describe the Chelsea forward as “one of the top players in the Premier League”, as well as “one of the most-watched in the Chelsea team”.

Corey then brings in an 'expert', Steve, to help him gauge how much the shirt should cost.

Steve bizarrely says of Pulisic: "We think of [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo, this kid is already being compared to all of them."

Now, as already mentioned, Pulisic is a great player, but he cannot be compared to two of the best footballers ever at this stage in his career. Maybe in the future but certainly not now.

After determining the signature is real, Steve then prices the shirt at just $400, to which the seller replies: "That was a lot lower than I expected."

Steve departs and Corey decides against buying the shirt, leaving the seller disappointed.

We wonder if the seller has actually managed to get someone to meet his asking price for the shirt. Given Pulisic has struggled in 2022 so far, we doubt it.
