Tottenham offering Harry Kane a contract extension will be "on the agenda", according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Antonio Conte has welcomed six new players on board in what has been a positive summer in north London, but the Champions League outfit are still waiting for Kane to commit his future to the club.

Stark contrast to this time 12 months ago when he expressed his desire to leave and was involved in an intense transfer saga with Manchester City, Kane is happy at Tottenham and would even be 'open' to talks over a new deal.

Kane's traditional August struggles continued against Southampton last weekend, but the England forward finished last season in excellent form and has generally looked back to his best since Conte's arrival, playing a pivotal role in the club qualifying for the Champions League.

But the 29-year-old has entered the final two years of his deal, and while nothing has happened to suggest that he'll leave before next month, his future could soon become a talking point once again if he doesn't put pen to paper before the summer of 2023.

Football.London claimed last month that a new contract offer is expected to come in the weeks ahead, but Jones doesn't think that Kane will be in a rush to sign.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "It'll come onto the agenda for sure because Tottenham will look to talk to him once the window closes about where things are going, although I don't know if Kane will necessarily be in a rush to sign it."

Is Kane likely to sign a new contract?

With Conte in charge, there's every chance Kane will stay at Tottenham beyond the expiration of his £200,000 per-week contract in 2024.

The striker has often spoken about how much he loves playing under the Italian and with Conte at the helm, Spurs surely have a great chance of matching Kane's ambition of regularly challenging for major trophies.

But Conte's own contract runs out at the end of this season, so perhaps the duo extending their deals will go hand in hand with each other.

On the other hand, if Kane does still want to leave north London, his options are limited.

Manchester City have signed Erling Haaland since he was linked, Liverpool have brought in Darwin Nunez and Manchester United aren't likely to qualify for the Champions League this season, which could rule them out.

Kane has made it clear that he wants to stay in England in hope of breaking the Premier League goalscoring record, so should he become unsettled once again, there aren't many challenges that are feasible for him right now, meaning a career in north London is looking the favourable outcome.
