Paige VanZant has been warned her bareknuckle boxing career could be over if she loses to Charisa Sigala.

That's according to VanZant's promoter David Feldman who admits that there is a lot riding on her next fight.

Feldman, 51, is the founder and president of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, the world's premier bare-knuckle boxing organisation.

Former UFC star VanZant, 28, has been matched up against fellow MMA fighter Sigala, which will take place in the co-main event of BKFC 27 at London's Wembley Arena on August 20.

GiveMeSport.com's Tom Ward caught up with the BKFC boss to enquire about VanZant's long-term future with the company and to preview the main event between Michael 'Venom' Page and Mike Perry.

TOM WARD: Paige VanZant has lost both of her fights since making her debut in 2021. Is this a make-or-break fight for her?

DAVID FELDMAN: "Absolutely, yes. I mean, if Paige loses, her bareknuckle career is definitely at an end.

"I mean, she did an interview and said there was no pressure on this fight, so, you know, if she feels there's no pressure, then maybe, you know, maybe she's very confident. But, you know, I can't keep saying after every fight, we'll see how she does.

"And that's why if she doesn't do well in this fight, if she doesn't come out victorious, or at least look very, very good, then she's probably at the end of her bareknuckle career."

TW: Speaking of VanZant, she most recently lost to Rachael Ostovich, but we haven't heard anything about Ostovich for a while now. What's been happening there? Is she still a part of BKFC?

DF: "Yeah, we actually just renegotiated her on a multi-fight deal. So hopefully she'll be back by December at the latest."

TW: Of course the big story is Bellator have allowed Michael 'Venom' Page to sign a one-fight deal . Do you think he will fight again in BKFC if he beats Mike Perry?

DF: "It's getting a lot of buzz. He's one of the best strikers in mixed martial arts, period.

"So if he delivers the way I think he can deliver it's going to be really exciting. It has to be exciting for the fans so if MVP goes out there very technical, which he's very capable of, it'll be interesting to see how Mike Perry adapts.

"But he's also able to go in there and bang, so if he goes in there and bangs and the fans are on their feet and they love it, of course. It's all about what the fans want, really.

"But I think the fans are going to really want to see MVP back because he's one of the best strikers in mixed martial arts.

"He's very technically sound. He moves really well. He's everything you want really in a fighter and I think he's a great asset to the organisation."

TW: From a British perspective, there's a few others in action next weekend. Talk to me about Connor Tierney. How high is his ceiling?

DF: "The sky is the limit with this kid.

"He's a great character, he looks the part, and he's got big dreams.

"But, look, at the end of the day, if you can talk but you can't fight, then that's going to be a bit of a problem. But he can talk and he can fight.

"So if he comes out victorious here, I think he will be on the right trajectory to become a star."

DF: "I can't wait to see the main event. I really can't wait to see MVP and Mike Perry.

"If the right Mike Perry shows up and the right MVP shows up it's going to be an unbelievable war.

"I mean, I know Mike Perry will stop punches with his head. So I know he's going to bring it. And if MVP comes in and he brings it as well, it could be one of the best fights you've ever seen.

"I think it has the potential to be the 'Fight of the Year', for sure."
