Tyson Fury and his father John flew to Iceland to try and confront Icelandic strongman Thor Bjornsson, but the trip quickly turned into a boozy holiday.

When Fury announced his retirement from boxing back in April, everyone took it with a pinch of salt.

It was inevitable that the Gypsy King would be back in the ring before long, and Fury recently called out Derek Chisora as he begins to plan his comeback fight.

But while his feud with Chisora rumbles on, Fury has also locked horns with Icelandic strongman Thor Bjornsson, with rumours that the pair could face off in an exhibition bout later this year.

Bjornsson, who was previously named the world’s strongest man, isn’t a stranger to the ring. The 33-year-old went toe-to-toe with Eddie Hall, who has also previously boasted the title of being the world’s strongest man.

The pair brawled in Dubai for a gruelling six rounds back in March before the judges ruled Thor the victor.

Now just five months on from his first boxing event, it seems Thor is eyeing up a heavyweight champion as his next opponent. The pair have traded words on social media recently, but Fury looked to finally confront his potential opponent in the flesh this week.

Fury, alongside his father John, jetted to Iceland with the intention of finding Bjornsson at his gym. The issue, however, was that Thor was nowhere to be seen. In fact, he wasn’t even in Iceland at the time.

Fury documented his Icelandic adventure in a comical series of videos, which hilariously ended with him and his father enjoying a pint in the local pub.

Fury’s first post included a video of himself at Keflavik, where he said: "You know where we are guys? Iceland. You know what we're doing guys, we're looking for Thor. Come out and fight like a man."

After visiting his gym and discovering that Bjornsson was nowhere to be found, Fury then challenged Thor to find him in his home town of Morecambe.

"So we came to Iceland to fight Thor, he's not here,” continued Fury. “Now Thor, if you want any smoke from 'The Gypsy King' you're going to have to come to Morecambe Bay and fight me on a pilgrimage. All the best, see you soon."

Fury’s trip then quickly spiralled into him and his father enjoying a boozy holiday together, with the pair both buying Viking helmets before heading to the pub.

"So dad, we're the new Vikings now aren't we?" laughed Tyson, before his dad’s reply: "We've run them out of town haven't we son. We're in Iceland and we can't get a fight.”

Bjornsson confirmed he wasn’t in the country, and was in fact in Italy filming a movie. But he didn’t back down from Fury’s challenge: "Let's get serious, and I'll find you. I'll come to you. No worries."
