A video of Leah Williamsonâs impressive highlights from the Euro 2022 final has emerged on social media. Williamson captained the Lionesses to their first ever major tournament silverware this summer and put in a number of inspired performances throughout the tournament. The Arsenal star had been utilised as a central midfielder in the build-up to the tournament but then reverted back to her favoured position in the heart of defence just before the competition started. Playing alongside Chelseaâs Millie Bright, Barcelonaâs Lucy Bronze and Aston Villaâs newest signing Rachel Daly, Williamsonâs England side conceded just two goals all tournament. SHOP OUR LEAH WILLIAMSON T-SHIRT TO CELEBRATE ENGLANDâS EURO 2022 WIN
Williamson steps up at Wembley
On the biggest stage of them all, in front of a record crowd at Wembley, Williamson produced a masterful performance against Germany.
The 25-year-old was commanding, creative and composed ââ making 12 recoveries, five clearances and two blocks, according to stats from FotMob.
She also had 93 touches across the match, completed 83 percent of her passes and 100 percent of her dribbles.
When England conceded deep into normal time, Williamson refused to let her head drop and remained effortlessly calm under pressure.Â
While it was Keira Walsh who was awarded the Player of the Match award, few would have begrudged the prize being given to Williamson.
In honour of the England skipper, one fan has compiled a compilation video of Williamsonâs best moments from the final at Wembley.
The video has been viewed more than 15,000 times and is captioned: âLeah Cathrine Williamson vs Germany. Calm as you like.â

Williamson admits win hasnât âsunk inâ
Speaking to SkySports, Williamson reflected on Englandâs historic victory and said the teamâs achievement is still yet to sink in.Â
"The more I think about it, the more I remember," she said. "At the time I remember just feeling very relieved because you say you want to do something and then you actually do it. I was just balling my eyes out, but I don't remember much.
"The more I think about it now and the more I think about what we've done, I couldn't be prouder of the girls.
"The only thing that's sunk in is that we've done something a little bit crazy because everybody sort of knows who we are."
Back to Arsenal
Now that Englandâs memorable summer is over, Williamson will return to Arsenal ahead of the new Womenâs Super League season.
The Gunners finished second last season and will be hungry to go one better this time around.
Jonas Eidevallâs side face Manchester City in their opening match on September, 11th.
