Ferrari are looking to bring some upgrades to their power unit for the Belgian Grand Prix, once the Formula 1 season resumes at the end of this month.

The Scuderia have been one of the stories of the season for both good and bad reasons.

They started the campaign phenomenally well, winning in both Bahrain and Australia to open up an early lead in the Drivers' championship with Charles Leclerc after the first three races.

However, since then, things have gone a little bit awry, with Red Bull now firmly the team to catch and Max Verstappen the driver to try and reel in.

The Ferrari still has great pace, but taking full advantage of that this season has been a little bit of a tough ask for the team, and they will be using this summer to reflect on the first part of the campaign to try and learn for the second part.

They'll be eager to start on the front foot in Belgium at the end of this month, then, and it sounds as though they're going to bring some upgrades to their power unit for Spa, in order to try and set Leclerc and Carlos Sainz up for a strong weekend.

We've seen both Ferraris suffer power unit issues this season, with Leclerc being struck in Baku and Barcelona, whilst Sainz's car gave way in fiery fashion at the Austrian Grand Prix.

In a bid to try and improve reliability, then, the Prancing Horses will have new power unit components, with them allowed to upgrade the MGU-K, Energy Store and Control Electronics before September 1st.

The Tifosi will hope that makes the Ferrari cars a little more bullet proof than they have been so far, then, and that really needs to be the case if they are to have any chance of winning either championship this year now.
