Andy Ruiz Jr looks like he is training well ahead of his heavyweight title eliminator against Luis Ortiz.

The Destroyer released a video to his Instagram ahead of the crunch clash on September 4 and his power is something that Ortiz will have to be well aware of.

It's not just his power which is on full show, though, it's also his lightning pace!

The 32-year-old appears to be in much better shape than he has been in past fights, meaning he can seemingly move about the ring a lot quicker, but he will have to be at his best to triumph against an experienced Ortiz.

King Kong is one of the best heavyweights around and he’s a massive puncher himself, so Ruiz will have to get back to the form that saw him stun Anthony Joshua in 2019.

In Ruiz’s most recent fight, he laboured to an uninspiring points win against Chris Arreola to set up the bout with the Cuban.

At a press conference to announce the fight a few weeks ago, Ruiz even revealed that he is hoping for a third fight against Joshua if he’s able to get the better of Ortiz.

He said: “God-willing we get this victory on September 4.

“Of course if Wilder comes out of retirement I’d love to fight him, we’ve gone through the same work with Al Haymon and that would be the fight to make.

“But if not, then we can go through Usyk or Anthony Joshua.

“We can try to make that trilogy fight that I always wanted, but first I need to focus on Luis Ortiz, a hard-hitting guy.

“This might not go the distance, but I’m prepared to go all 12 rounds. We’re going to get this victory no matter what on September 4.”

Some will say that Ruiz Jr shouldn’t be looking that far ahead because he has a very challenging fight ahead of him already.

But the Mexican-American is clearly very confident with his chances and it will certainly be a bout to keep an eye on.

Ortiz demolished former world champion Charles Martin in January and the 43-year-old’s only professional defeats have come at the hands of Wilder, who beat him twice.
