Gabriel Jesus has scored his first Premier League goal for Arsenal.Signed from Manchester City to great fanfare this summer, the Emirates Stadium faithful really felt as though Jesus' arrival signified the moment where they truly replaced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The club was left short in attacking areas as their Champions League hopes faded away last season with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah hardly bringing about an avalanche of goals.

Excitement around Jesus at Arsenal

But there's good reason to think that Jesus could be the man to lead Mikel Arteta's front line for years to come because he's taken to life as a club's number one striker like a duck to water.

It's one thing to thrive in pre-season - and boy did Jesus do that with a flurry of fabulous goals - but it's no use if you don't then go onto prove yourself in the Premier League.

And while Jesus enjoyed a solid debut as part of Arsenal's 2-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend, it was the visit of Leicester City to Emirates Stadium that saw him truly announce himself.

That's because he not only opened his goalscoring account with a first competitive strike, but he did so in a manner that will simply have Gooners drooling over his potential going forward.

Jesus scores his first goal for Arsenal

Picking up the ball on the left-hand side, Jesus fed a pass to Gabriel Martinelli in the box who, under pressure from Wesley Fofana, got the ball back to his compatriot via a quick interchange with Granit Xhaka.

However, Jesus still didn't look to have a clear shot at goal as the Foxes' penalty area was thronged with players and the tight angle hardly made for an easy finish.

But try telling that to Jesus because he saw an opportunity that hardly anyone else had spotted, opening up his body and lifting a delightful shot towards the far top corner of Danny Ward's goal.

And would we really be here if said shot hit the woodwork, sailed wide or ended up in Row Z? Of course not, so be sure to check out the stunning moment that Jesus opened his Arsenal account down below:

What an absolute peach.

Does that not remind you of a certain little lob that Alexis Sanchez scored against Ludogorets into the same top corner at the same end of the Emirates? Ok, it's not quite that good, but there's definitely a similar vibe.

Jesus doubles his money

However, even better than Jesus' stellar striker was the fact that he wasn't finished there, because the Brazilian simply continued his hot streak by doubling Arsenal's lead just over 10 minutes later.

When a dangerous corner from the hosts was flicked on by Jamie Vardy towards his own back post, Jesus was Johnny-on-the-sport to nod home from mere centimetres as Leicester could only look on and watch.

It might only be early days in the Premier League season and it might only have been early days in the game when Jesus struck, but boy is he looking like an incredible signing for the Gooners.
