Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp clashed after Manchester United's heavy defeat to Brentford on Saturday evening.

United were smashed 4-0 in west London, with each of Brentford's goals coming in the opening 34 minutes.

Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo were all on the scoresheet in what was a dismal evening for United.

Neville and Redknapp then went head-to-head as they analysed proceedings on Sky Sports after the game.

Neville took aim at United's owners, the Glazer family, and called on them to do more with the club in turmoil.

Redknapp challenged him and it made for an incredible few minutes of TV as they both went at it. View the exchange below...

Neville started: "There is a family over there in America who are letting their employees take all the hits for them. That is unforgivable. Joel Glazer has got get on a plane tomorrow, get to Manchester, and start to divert the issues away from the club and tell everybody what the hell his plan is with the football club. What is he doing?"

Redknapp responded: "You can't keep blaming the owners when the players are putting in performances like that...

After a bit of a back and forth, Redknapp then said to Neville: "Look at me when I'm talking to you..."

The former Liverpool man continued: We [Liverpool] didn't win the league for 30 years. We went through it. They [United players] have to take responsibility."

Neville retorted: "How many times are we going to sit here and say these players lack leadership and personality. They've proven they can't handle it these players. They needed to have a good transfer market. They haven't had a good transfer market. When a business is not performing it's the owners [that are at fault]."

Redknapp hit back: "They keep spending money on the players. You can't keep saying it's all about them. So you think they go and it's going to be all great?"

Neville responded: "They took £24m out of the club about two months ago, we've got a decrepit, rotting stadium that's second-rate when it was the best stadium in the world 15/20 years ago.

"You've got a football project where they haven't got a clue. You've got bankers in charge of the football club, not making football decisions. They haven't got a sporting director. We can look at the players all you like. But there are that many big things that need to be put right first. They've got to show up and face the music. Now is the time. You can't keep hiding in Tampa and thinking nothing will come back to you."

The two then clashed over Daniel Levy and Tottenham. Tensions eventually eased.

Watching the two go at it and speaking so passionately made for some great TV.
