Paris Saint-Germain made it two wins from two in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.

After destroying Clermont Foot 5-0 in their opening match of the 2022/23 campaign, the champions of France beat Montpellier 5-2 at the Parc Des Princes.

Neymar was the hero of the evening for Christophe Galtier's side, the Brazilian scoring two more goals and dropping an absolute masterclass.

The former Barcelona man has well and truly regained his best form, which will concern other top footballing nations as we approach the 2022 World Cup.

Neymar's first goal of the evening was a cooly taken penalty on 43 minutes and it was yet more proof that he is one of the very best in the business from 12 yards.

However, there was an element of controversy surrounding the spot kick.

Twenty minutes before Neymar beat Jonas Omlin in the Montpellier goal, Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty while the scores were level at 0-0.

But despite the fact he'd failed at the first time of trying, Mbappe demanded that he be given a second opportunity.

New footage has emerged of the latest 'penaltygate' saga at PSG and it should really concern those in power at the club...

That's not a great look, is it?

Mbappe also barged into Lionel Messi while making his way over to Neymar to make his demands, something the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner didn't look too pleased about.

Is Mbappe's newfound power going to his head after recently signing a lucrative new contract at PSG? It may well be.

The Frenchman and Neymar's relationship is said to have broken down quite dramatically of late, which could cause huge problems for Galtier.

According to Get French Football News, tensions have risen between the pair in the dressing room over the fact that Neymar is aware of the reports detailing Mbappe's desire to have him sold this summer.

Mbappe's camp believe there's only room for one of Neymar and Messi in the PSG XI moving forward.

If the reports are accurate and the pair are not seeing eye-to-eye, Galtier and the rest of the hierarchy need to act fast and resolve the issue.

PSG need Mbappe and Neymar working together in 2022/23, as it is vital to the club's attempts at winning the Champions League for the very first time.

Let's see how the situation unfolds in the coming days...
