Someone has taken a GP2 car for a drive on a public highway in extraordinary footage from the Czech Republic. The video was reportedly shot on August 13 on the D4 motorway, which is southwest of Prague.Imagine driving along and seeing that and this is exactly what many drivers would have had to endure on Saturday. It is filmed filtering in and out of traffic in quite amazing scenes, with the clip quickly going viral online. The driver is actually keeping to the speed limit by the looks of it, so it doesn’t seem like they are driving extremely recklessly. It is, of course, completely illegal to be driving a car such as this on a public road and it will be interesting to find out what happens to the culprit.Police are on the lookout for the driver, but as of writing this article, they haven’t been able to identify them just yet.

It appears to be a GP2/08 car and it has a wide range of sponsors with Ferrari badges on the outside.

The GP2 series ran from 2005 to 2016 (which it was then rebranded as Formula 2), so it is the feeder competition for Formula One.

Road & Track explain that GP2/08 cars were used for just three years and that means that a bunch of machines were made available for collectors.

They have many similar features as F1 cars, but they don’t have quite as much power and they’re not quite as complex.

It’s actually powered by a 4.0L V8 and that makes it around 460kW, which is much higher than your everyday cars.

Amazingly, it’s not the first time that the GP2 car has appeared on public Czech roads.

Back in 2019, the car was spotted on the exact same highway and the driver managed to get away with it.

It remains to be seen if it’s the same driver from three years ago, but if it is, then they are clearly good at evading the authorities.
