Tottenham Hotspur could still complete another transfer before deadline day but it is more likely to be a younger player for the future, according to Tom Barclay of The Sun.

Antonio Conte has overseen a productive summer at Hotspur Way but further additions could still be made before the September 1 cut-off.

What is the latest transfer news from Tottenham?

Spurs are expected to add another signing to their ranks in the coming days in the form of Udinese left-back Destiny Udogie, with the 19-year-old arriving in London for his medical on Sunday, according to the Evening Standard.

The publication claims that a £20 million total fee has been agreed with the Serie A club, with Udogie set to return to the Italian side on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

He would become the seventh new face through the door at Tottenham this summer and take their total spending past the £100 million mark.

Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence, Clement Lenglet and Fraser Forster make up the other recruits. Although Conte has opted to start none of them in the opening games of the season their influence is sure to grow as the weeks progress.

They also continue to be linked with Leicester City ace James Maddison and Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo.

What has Barclay said on potential new recruits?

The journalist understands that another signing could still be made at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But he feels that, if a new arrival does come in, it is likely to be a younger star who could benefit them for years to come.

Barclay told GIVEMESPORT: “Yes, I think there's a possibility of another player coming in. But again, as I’ve said throughout after the six signings came in, I don't think there's a guarantee of it at all. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a younger player rather than a big money signing.”

Do Tottenham need another signing this summer?

It has been a solid start to the 2022-23 season for Conte and co. with a convincing win against Southampton and a battling 2-2 draw away to Chelsea to their name.

Having struck the deals so early in the window, it does appear that Tottenham’s priority business has already been completed.

It is likely just a case of continuing to monitor the market for now and being ready to pounce on any attractive deals that become available.
