Conor McGregor is one of the biggest names the UFC has had and so is Dustin Poirier. However, we haven’t seen him competing in the Octagon since the latter beat the former in their trilogy fight over a year ago.

Famously, the Irishman broke his leg early in the fight and has only just returned to full training including performing kicks after a long time on the sidelines.

It made it three losses from four for Notorious who is in danger of marring his legacy in the sport given his decline in results, he needs to come back like we know he can perform and return to his title-winning form.

He still doesn’t have a fight lined up with rumours swirling around about a boxing exhibition rematch with Floyd Mayweather, we may not see him return to the Octagon again with him opting for a huge payday in his rematch with the American.

One of the biggest names in combat sports, McGregor was clearly calm ahead of his trilogy fight with Poirier despite the disaster that ensued when the first round got underway for fans of McGregor.

In the Octagon after making his walk-on first, he kills the time waiting for his opponent by messing with the security guard stood in the Octagon with him at the time.

McGregor squares up to the security guard before swinging his leg towards his head, mimicking that he is going to try and take him down with the kick.

Brock Lesnar's opinion of Conor McGregor will always be the most savage

Thankfully for everyone involved, McGregor stopped just before connecting with the face of the security guard, or else it would likely have been chaos!

The security guard was ice cold in his reaction though, not flinching or moving a muscle despite having one of the best UFC fighters threatening to hit you, most would have run a mile let alone not even flinch.

There’s a good chance that McGregor was doing it to entertain whilst the fans waited for the fight to begin, one of the biggest the UFC has seen.

At heart, Notorious is an entertainer as well as being an incredible fighter, so to see him always thinking about the entertainment factor of his fights shows us why many fans see him as one of the greatest fighters the sport has seen.

He’ll undoubtedly go down in history and let’s hope we see him back in the Octagon much sooner rather than later now he’s finally fully fit again.
