Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao: Footage of Money confusing, frustrating & toying opponent

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are two of the greatest fighters we’ve ever seen, with the pair fighting it out in the ‘Fight of the Century’ or ‘Battle for Greatness’ back in May 2015.

Arguably the most eagerly anticipated sporting event of all time, the world seemed to stop to take it in and see who would take the victory and cement their name in the legacy of boxing.

It took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, with spectators and pay-per-view buyers treated to seeing two of the best go toe-to-toe for the full 12 rounds with neither fighter managing to land the knockout punch.

There was no controversy in the outcome, with all three judges agreeing to hand Mayweather a unanimous decision victory to keep his undefeated, 100% record intact, with Money taking on just two more fights after that to finish with that iconic 50-0 record.

Judges scored the fight 116-112, 116-112, 118-110 to show Mayweather’s dominance during the fight over his opponent.

So the judges clearly had it relatively one-sided, with none of them really rating the performance from Pacquiao in comparison to that of Mayweather’s.

The dominance from Mayweather throughout the fight was clear, especially in the 11th round when he decided to really show his superiority.

He decided to take his foot off the gas and barely go for his opponent, toying with him around the ring. He runs around and dodges the desperate attempts from Pacquiao to get that big hit to try and rebalance the fight.

Pacquiao wasn’t able to and he even struggled to land anything significant on his opponent who put himself in the corner of the ring, just weaving side-to-side to avoid the punches.

The fact that Mayweather was so confident the fight was won during the 11th round shows us just how good he was but also how he oozed confidence that normally goes hand-in-hand with his arrogance.

Not many would have the confidence the fight was won that Mayweather had, just showing us why he was always on another level to other fighters, even those considered on his level.

Mayweather is still staying heavily involved in the sport, taking on exhibition fights as well as looking towards taking more in the future. He clearly loves the sport that made him a millionaire and isn’t ready to hang up his gloves for good, even if his professional days are behind him.
