AJ Styles has stated that he believes that Dexter Lumis should never been released by WWE earlier this year.

Since Triple H took control as head of creative of WWE, we’ve seen several former talents return to the company after previously being released.

As SummerSlam last month both Io Shirai and Dakota Kai made a WWE comeback alongside Bayley and have been a prominent part of Monday Night Raw ever since.

We have also seen Karrion Kross back in WWE on SmackDown, along with the members of Hit Row – minus Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott – on SmackDown last week.

One other former face that made a shock return last week, was that of Dexter Lumis. Lumis could be seen in the closing segment of Monday Night Raw being dragged away by security have appeared in the front row of the crowd following the main event.

The circumstances surrounding his return remain a mystery, and fans eagerly await the follow-up to see what will happen with the NXT star. However, the man left in the ring watching Lumis’ comeback unfold, AJ Styles, is pleased to see him back in WWE and believe he should have been removed from the company.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with WWE Kids for GiveMeSport, the Phenomenal One said.

‘It’s new, it’s exciting, it’s fresh. It’s something that should never have left WWE in the first place. I think he’s great. I don’t know what happens next, and I don’t even know it it’s with AJ Styles, but I’m excited to see what’s next.’

Lumis was a big part of Triple H’s NXT, feuding with Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano and memorably marrying Indie Hartwell in a classic wrestling wedding on NXT.

The 38-year-old was surprisingly released from the company in April, but now seems he’ll be playing a major role under WWE’s regime, with some even suggesting he could be involved in the bizarre automobile crash that happened in the background of a backstage segment during the show.

AJ Styles was talking ahead of us ahead of Clash At The Castle, the UK's first major WWE stadium event in over 30 years, taking place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday 3rd September. For tickets visit: https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/wweclash.
