Antonio Conte vs Thomas Tuchel given WWE WrestleMania treatment

Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte WrestleMania Treatment

‘Just one regular day of Barclays’ was the cry from the actual Antonio Conte on Sunday rather than the meme template following his altercation with Thomas Tuchel at full-time of Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with his former side, Chelsea.

The hosts were ahead twice in the London derby thanks to goals from home debutant Kalidou Koulibaly who scored a scrumptious volley to announce himself with Reece James the other Blues goalscorer.

It was Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who levelled the scores first time round before club captain Harry Kane rescued a point for Spurs in the dying embers of the game thanks to a goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

Tempers flared at the final whistle, with a tense handshake with the two managers boiling over into carnage with both benches getting into a brawl with each other.

As you can imagine, the internet didn’t fail to entertain with a bagful of memes and funny social media posts made about the clash.

One of the best was a nod to the iconic WrestleMania 17 promo where the main event saw Stone Cold Steve Austin go head-to-head with The Rock.

Two iconic names of the WWE going head to head was always going to be a classic event for the organisation, with the 17th edition of WrestleMania going down in history as one of the best.

The title changed hands on the night, with Stone Cold Steve Austin coming away victorious on one of the biggest nights of his career.

Not only was the entire night a historic one, the promo for the event will go down in WWE Hall of Fame as one of the greatest promos ever created.

When WWE fans hear ‘My Way’ by Limp Bizkit, their minds instantly jump back to that promo, with the hit song being used by the organisation over the top of the promotion.

So, unsurprisingly, we’ve seen a video emerge on Twitter with the scenes at the final whistle being mocked up to look like the iconic promo with Limp Bizkit’s track being played over the top, adding to the authenticity and quality of the meme.

Drew McIntyre said he would love to see the pair go head-to-head at the next pay-per-view event, Clash at the Castle.

Imagine how good it would be to see the two managers settle their rivalry personally on the big stage, stepping into a WWE ring to see who comes away superior.
