Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi has "chances" to leave Stamford Bridge on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel and has been linked with a loan exit upon the window closing next month.

Despite making more than 100 appearances for his boyhood club, Hudson-Odoi has only started 32 games in the Premier League having failed to ever establish himself as a regular.

As a result, he could leave on loan this summer, with several top-flight sides interested in his services.

According to The Sun, Newcastle are very keen, while Southampton, Leicester, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are all in the race for the England international, who's entered the final two years of his £120,000 per-week Stamford Bridge contract.

The report states that Hudson-Odoi pulled out of an Under-21s game on Monday evening as he moves towards a loan exit, 24 hours after he was an unused substitute against Tottenham.

What did Romano say about Hudson-Odoi?

Romano confirmed Southampton's interest, although admitted that Hudson-Odoi wasn't keen, but hinted that Newcastle could be a potential option for the youngster.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Hudson-Odoi will leave, from what I'm told he has chances to go on loan and there are some possibilities.

"Southampton wanted him but at the moment the player is not convinced, so this is why there are other options, we will see if Newcastle go for him or not."

Should Hudson-Odoi leave Chelsea?

Remarkably, Hudson-Odoi has turned out 126 times in all competitions for the Blues before his 22nd birthday, but he needs a temporary move away from the club if he wants his game-time to improve.

He can play in several positions, including at wing-back and in midfield, but he has spent much of his Chelsea career playing as a winger.

And while Tuchel isn't exactly overloaded in the wide areas, his current formation doesn't appear to suit Hudson-Odoi, with Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling offering support for Kai Havertz up front.

Providing Tuchel doesn't see him as a wing-back, which is unlikely considering Denzel Dumfries and Kyle Walker-Peters have been linked to Chelsea, his game-time will surely be limited in the months ahead.

Therefore, a season away from Stamford Bridge could be perfect for his development and perhaps even allow him to build towards an England recall, with the last of his three caps coming almost three years ago.
