What is the latest news involving Tielemans?

Writing for CaughtOffside (via The Sun), the reliable Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that Arsenal have been in talks with Tielemans' people for months.

At the same time, however, the Italian journalist has said that the Gunners are yet to present Leicester with an actual offer.

In regards to how much Tielemans could cost, a report from football.london suggests that the Foxes want £32m for the 25-year-old.

He has less than a year remaining on his £120,000-a-week contract, so Arsenal always have the option of waiting and trying to sign him on a free transfer in 2023.

What has Jones said about Tielemans to Arsenal?

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal are still weighing up a move for Tielemans.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "Tielemans is definitely still someone they're considering an offer for. Leicester definitely do not want this one going down to deadline day and losing him then because that would leave them in trouble.

"And the player, to be fair, hasn't really pushed for anything at the moment, but at the same time he hasn't had any firm offers."

Would Leicester sell Tielemans on deadline day?

In normal circumstances, you would have to say no. A player of Tielemans' quality is naturally going to be hard to replace, so finding the perfect successor on the last day of the transfer window sounds virtually impossible.

Last season, he had the third-highest average for key passes per league game in Leicester's squad (via WhoScored), highlighting his ability.

Still, given the situation the Foxes find themselves in, you probably cannot rule out them selling Tielemans on deadline day if a good offer comes in.

As already mentioned, they risk losing him for nothing next year, while Brendan Rodgers has also explained that there has been some financial issues at the club this summer.

"There is, obviously, within the club a financial situation which isn’t ideal in terms of wanting to do business," the 49-year-old said at the start of the month (via The Guardian).

When you consider all of the above, Leicester may not be in a position to say no to Arsenal if they arrive with a big-money offer for Tielemans on deadline day.
