Tyson Fury Next Fight: Could the Gypsy King ditch the gloves?

Tyson Fury heading to the ring for boxing match

Boxing legend Tyson Fury recently revealed that he had retired from the sport, but could the ‘Gypsy King’ be making his way to a different version of the sweet science, namely Bare Knuckle boxing?

Bare Knuckle boxing, namely BKFC, has grown in popularity massively over the past couple of years, with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships set to run a show in Wembley Arena on Saturday, August 20th 2022, the same night that Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk will be competing in Saudi Arabia.

We’ve seen a number of MMA fighters make the transition to the bare-knuckle arena, including former UFC fighter Paige VanZant and Bellator MMA competitor Michael ‘Venom’ Page, and the President of BKFC has said that the ‘Gypsy King’ is “absolutely” on his radar.

Here is what the BKFC President Dave Feldman has had to say with regards to Tyson Fury potentially competing in Bare Knuckle Boxing.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Feldman revealed that Fury is absolutely on the table as someone he would be looking to sign.

He said: “I think it [signing Tyson Fury] is definitely possible, if they take us seriously because we are the new kid on the block, they might not listen to us. If they listen to us, then absolutely I think we can get a deal done.

“He absolutely is on our radar; he would take this sport to a whole different level. You just saw it at Wembley Stadium with almost 100,000 people in there.

“I think Tyson Fury would take this to a whole other level and we would absolutely love to make a play for him.”

Bringing in a megastar the level of Fury would certainly be a major play from BKFC to further cement their status as one of the most prominent combat sports brands in the world.

Interestingly, Feldman revealed during the same interview that the company is already negotiating with some major names in the boxing world.

“I just wanna get some more of these boxers. We are going to make a play for some of these really good boxers,” Feldman revealed.

“I can’t mention their names right now because it’s not done but we have two of the top 10 in the world we are negotiating with right now.”

It’s looking like an extremely exciting time to be a fan of BKFC, or a good time to start getting into the sport!
