Naomi Osaka was in attendance for the Western and Southern Open clash between Serena Williams and Emma Raducanu on Tuesday night. It seemed as though the Japanese tennis star hoped she would somehow sneak in unnoticed, judging by her reaction to being filmed in the crowd. As she was applauding a point for Williams, the cameras panned to show a close up of the four-time Grand Slam champion in the stands. It wasn't the first time Osaka had been filmed during the match, but this was perhaps the first time she had noticed. When she realised she was on screen, the 24-year-old stopped mid-clap and turned to look at her friends before slowly sinking down in her chair to hide. The official Western and Southern Open Twitter account has posted the video, and Osaka can be seen smirking as she attempts to slide away from the camera's view."We see you, @naomiosaka," the caption reads.

The post has been viewed more than 78,000 times and has pulled in some brilliant engagement from fans and neutrals alike.

"Hilarious," one user replied.

"My favourite moment from Serena vs Emma," another said.

One also drew attention to the fact it was clearly Osaka's night off after her own Cincinnati run was cut short after losing to Zhang Shuai earlier this week.

"It's the wine glass for me," they wrote along with laughing emojis and the hashtag #LoveHer.

Naomi Osaka supporting Serena Williams

Like millions of others in the world right now, Osaka was eager to catch one last look at the legendary Williams doing what she does best.

The 23-time Grand Slam will close the curtain on her astonishing career after this year's US Open, ending a phenomenal era of tennis.

Williams recently announced she had made the difficult decision to "evolve away" from the court and focus on other aspects of her life.

She bowed out of the Cincinnati Masters after Raducanu breezed to a 6-4, 6-0 win.

Thanks to the thrilling 2018 US Open final, a friendly rivalry between Williams and Osaka was born.

The Japanese star, who was just 20 years old at the time, snubbed her opponent of a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam title after a memorable meeting in New York.

Osaka had just claimed her first major title but was overwhelmed during the trophy ceremony after emotions were left highly-strung on the court.

The match is remembered more for Williams' outburst towards the umpire, who issued her a first code violation for purportedly receiving coaching.

However, the six-time US Open champion comforted Osaka once the match was over and graciously congratulated her opponent.
