Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is concerned about his lack of opportunities under Thomas Tuchel, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 22-year-old made his competitive Blues debut at Everton earlier this month, but he's played less than 10 minutes in their opening two Premier League fixtures.

What's the latest news involving Gallagher?

Having returned from a productive spell on loan at Crystal Palace, Gallagher would have been hoping to make an impression at Stamford Bridge.

He was given regular game-time by Tuchel in pre-season and played 76 minutes in their final friendly against Udinese.

But Gallagher found himself on the bench at Everton on the opening day, only making his debut as a substitute in the ninth minute of added-time.

Gallagher took to Instagram to express his delight at pulling on the shirt for the first time and while he was given slightly more time on the pitch against Tottenham on Sunday, which nearly allowed him to contribute an assist, his chances of starting games don't appear likely to improve.

And Jones reckons that Gallagher, who's valued at £50m by the Londoners, is already starting to fear that he might not get the minutes that he wants.

What did Jones say about Gallagher?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "He wants to keep fighting for his place in this team and he wants it to work out, but I'm told he is starting to worry a little bit that he's not going to get game-time in the role that he feels he would flourish in for Chelsea."

Could Gallagher leave Chelsea before 1 September?

We're only two games into the new season and Chelsea have looked far from their best, so it's too early to suggest that Gallagher might seek a loan at this current moment.

But if Gallagher's opportunities don't improve in the next three matches before the deadline, he'll have a big decision to make.

Not only will Gallagher want to avoid potentially spending the first half of the campaign on the bench because he wants to be playing regularly, but he knows that a lack of game-time could cost him a place in the England squad for the World Cup.

Therefore, what happens in Chelsea's next three fixtures could go some way to deciding whether Gallagher stays with his parent club or goes out on loan again, with the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham all interested in his services.
