Anthony Joshua’s preparation for Oleksandr Usyk has gone to another level, as an unorthodox workout video posted to his social media channels has gone viral.

As we know, AJ is on a collision course with Usyk in what is being touted as the biggest rematch in the history of heavyweight boxing with the bout set to take place at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia this Saturday.

When the two men met in the ring for the first time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September last year, the Brit lost all the gold to the Ukrainian via unanimous decision.

Now, with revenge on his mind and a point to prove, the 32-year-old will embark on a quest to take back the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight straps.

However, he faces an entirely different version of Usyk – one which is now bulked up in size and has been hardened in the fight during the war against Russia in the champion’s native Ukraine.

This could potentially mean that the 35-year-old might be stronger, faster and mentally tougher than ever, but it remains to be seen what kind of fight we will see this weekend.

AJ has made changes too, though, as he has hired a new coaching team and therefore will have been looking for a game plan to defeat the speedy yet calculated Usyk.

Think Usyk may have lost some pace due to his bulk in size? Think again. He demonstrated just how much pace he has with an insane four coin trick during his open workout session yesterday.

As for AJ, his tactics came into question following the beating that he took at the hands of the current champion, so he will no doubt be looking to respond to that criticism come fight night.

In terms of his preparations, this clip of Joshua’s latest bodyweight workout will leave you in awe and you will see that AJ is looking to become even more of a beast.

In said workout video, Joshua can be seen doing an unorthodox-type of press-up routine which involves the use of his fingertips, hands, knuckles and the top of his wrists.

He first starts out with his fingertips, progressing onto his palms, pressing back up to his fingertips, then to his knuckles and then to the top of his wrists.

He completes another set and a half, before exhaling at completion and then flexing while kneeling as he makes a grunt type of sound.

Whilst we know that Joshua takes great pride in his training and maintaining his beastly shape, this workout truly looks like it hurts.

Talk about going hard in fight camp!
