UFC president Dana White has publicly warned Paddy Pimblett over his notorious eating habits as damaging to the fighting franchise, as well as to the fighter himself.

Paddy Pimblett is a rapidly growing star of the UFC, having racked up three wins out of three in his year-long UFC career so far.

However, what is gaining the Liverpudlian most attention is his very humorous and entertaining personality, even ‘teabagging’ Jordan Leavitt following his submission victory over the American last month.

Often the most news-grabbing highlight of Paddy the Baddy’s pre-fight and post-fight antics, however, is that of his eating habits.

The 27-year-old famously goes on huge junk food binges after his fights, even eating an unbelievable 10,700 calories following his second UFC victory over Kazula Vargas earlier this year.

And following his recent victory over Leavitt, Pimblett shows no sign of stopping his binge-eating habits, recently claiming that he is already around the 200lbs mark, just a couple of weeks after the UFC event in London.

While many online, including other fighters, find Paddy the Baddy’s weight gain more humorous than anything, UFC president Dana White does not view the post-fight habit quite as lightly.

Addressing the issue recently, White revealed that Pimblett’s weight gain makes it extremely difficult for the UFC when in the matchmaking room.

White told reporters: “It makes it tough for us when we are in the matchmaking room and we want to throw together a fight. Maybe we can throw him in a card in a month or a month a half, but it hurts us too as we have to be very specific when we plan fights for him because he is nowhere near close to the weight. What you don't want to do is put all that pressure on him to cut that much weight in that short amount of time.”

Furthermore, as well as highlighting how Pimblett’s eating habits hurt the UFC, White showed no hesitation in highlighting the damage to his athletic performance the dramatic weight gain and loss could cause.

"It's not good for you, we all know that. We know that fluctuating and cutting all that weight is very bad, it definitely doesn't prolong your career. It's tough on your body and your organs."

However, White did give a bit of slack to Pimblett and understood that despite his position as president of the UFC, it is ultimately up to Pimblett what he does in between fights.

He continued: “Listen he's a grown man and he can do whatever the hell he wants to do. It's none of my business, it's all up to him. It's his life, his career, his body, he can do whatever he wants.”

As long as Paddy the Baddy continues to make the lightweight weight limit for all his future bouts, and carries on his impressive winning record, we are sure that White will have no complaints with him having a well-deserved pizza and kebab in his post-fight celebrations!
