Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana is not happy at the club as he continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

Brendan Rodgers has overseen a disappointing start to the season in the East Midlands and will be desperate to hang onto his star men ahead of deadline day.

What is the latest on Fofana?

Chelsea remain in the race to sign the 21-year-old this summer and have agreed personal terms already, according to MailOnline.

The report also indicates that Leicester are willing to sell Fofana for a fee of over £80 million, despite previously being determined to hold onto his services.

Fofana, who was signed for £36 million two years ago, has now upped the ante by informing Leicester that he wants to leave and join Thomas Tuchel’s side this summer.

The Blues have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella since the end of last season but remain in the market for added reinforcements at the back.

What has Jacobs said on Fofana?

Jacobs has said that Fofana is unhappy at Leicester, with a plethora of factors contributing to his current mood at the King Power Stadium.

The £51,000 per-week star was seen applauding the fans on his own after their 4-2 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday but the CBS reporter has insisted this was not necessarily a goodbye.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “Fofana tried to just walk straight down the tunnel, which doesn't necessarily reveal he was trying to say goodbye to the Leicester fans. What it tells you is that he's frustrated.

“Part of that is because Leicester haven't had a good summer. Another aspect of that is because their two games so far this season involved shipping goals, allowing Brentford back into the game on opening day and then Arsenal dominating Leicester in the second game of the season.

“So, he's not happy and I think that only serves to emphasise the fact that he doesn't want to be at the football club.”

What will happen with Fofana?

It is starting to feel more and more like Leicester will cave in and sell the player to Chelsea. The big question now is when.

Only one player has signed for the Foxes this summer in the form of goalkeeper Alex Smithies and if Rodgers wants to strengthen further, they may need to cash in soon.

That is because the summer window is set to slam shut on September 1, giving Leicester less than two weeks to source a replacement and strengthen in other areas too.
