WWE 2K23 has been officially confirmed so we’ve taken a look at five of the biggest changes we want to see from the new game!

It will likely feature the likes of Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor and Bianca Belair, and will come on the back of the excellently received WWE 2K22.

That game was a huge return to form for the series, particularly after WWE 2K20 was such a poorly received release.

WWE 2K22 really does “hit different”, as the marketing suggests, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t room for improvement.

We’ve taken a close look at what we’d like to see from 2K23, which is likely to come out next year in the build-up to WrestleMania.

Five Changes We Want From WWE 2K23

Updated Roster

Cody Rhodes is on his way back to WWE

Oh yeah, we want to see all the latest WWE stars in 2K23.

One notable criticism of 2K22, which isn’t really the fault of the developers, is that the game has aged significantly since its release, due to several roster changes.

There is no Cody Rhodes, for example, nor a Bron Breakker, or Hit Row, to name just three instances.

As a result, we want to see all of the latest roster additions added into 2K23.

Road to WrestleMania

This would make all the sense in the world, particularly if the game does release in the build-up to the Showcase of the Immortals.

Road To WrestleMania modes in previous years have put players in the shoes of their favourite superstars, and given them the chance to take them through to the show, with branching storylines and wacky feuds included.

It’s a really fun way of playing the game, and is a little more involved than MyRise.

We’d love to see it make a return.

MyGM Expansion

The return of MyGM was a huge hit in 2K22.

But we want to see a far more detailed version of the mode.

It feels as though 2K22’s MyGM mode is a base from which to build, so we’d like to see even more match types, roster options, and the opportunity to play it online against a friend.

Give us that chance, 2K!

MyRise tweaks

WWE 2K22 update 1.06 addresses a number of concerns including game mode exploits and more.

MyRise was a very fun mode on 2K22, as players were able to create their own superstar and place them into the rough and tumble world of WWE.

However, there were a couple of issues, notably that your superstar could win a clutch of belts, and never defend them, nor did they come out with the belt around their waist or over their shoulder when they were champion.

It’s a small detail but it adds so much realism; we’d like to see it added next year.

War Games!

Johnny Gargano speaks to the NXT crowd following NXT WarGames

We’ve detailed in a previous article the match types we’d like to see return but we’ve got to say it again: War Games is an NXT staple and we want it in WWE 2K!

It also speaks to a wider point – there are a few staple matches from WWE’s history that just aren’t included in the video game but we want to see them included.

Get War Games in and try to make WWE 2K23 the most up-to-date 2K game thus far.
